An in-house designed performance intercooler from do88 for an easy drop-in-fitment in your Audi Seat Skoda VW 1.8 TSI / 2.0 TSI
This intercooler is constructed to deliver the best cooling efficiency during tough conditions. Exclusively manufactured in aluminium with continuous welds, it guarantees reliability and endurance when you really need it. The increased core volume improves cooling efficiency and lowers the intake air temperature. Naturally, this being a do88 performance product, we have executed thorough, severe and continuous tests developing this product to ensure best performance. Not one compromise has been made. This intercooler is immensely optimised to the given space for an easy drop-in-fitment.
Significant advantages with do88 performance intercooler (VW Golf GTI OEM intercooler):
- Greater core volume: 15347cm3 (7719 cm3), 99 % bigger!
- Bigger active cooling area , 2692 cm2 vs 2573 cm2, 5 % bigger!
- Air flow at 0,15bar/2,18psi pressure drop: 455 CFM (310 CFM), 47 % higher!
- Lower post intercooler air temperature at same conditions: 24°C (36°C), do88 is 12°C lower!
The 99 % increased core volume is an achievement we are proud of. It´s a remarkable difference. The engine pulls better all over the revs and withstands repeated full throttle runs without building heat. The perception of an intercooler being something to upgrade only after a major engine tune is false, yet widely spread among customers and car people. During hot Swedish summer days, at repeated pulls, inspired driving or even at ordinary driving in a hotter climate area, it doesn't´t take much of an effort from the engine to generate dangerously high inlet temperatures – even on a standard, non-tuned, car. The cooling capacity with an OEM-intercooler is in many cases inferior which will affect the usable power outtake. The heat has to be eliminated, or else the promised output will be decreased as you start giving gas. With our intercooler you can rest assured the power is there, at all times.
The pressure pipes are manufactured in 2,5” mandrel bent seamless aluminium pipes.
Includes custom made high quality silicone hoses with 4 layers of polyester/aramid reinforcement. These hoses can handle very high temperature and pressure!
Always remember that the OEM intercooler was designed for the power level the car was built for originally. A power increase or even very hard use of the car in standard version, may cause the OEM intercooler not having the performance that you need. So only after an engine software tune the do88 BigPack will give a performance increase over the OEM intercooler!
A common misunderstanding is that an intercooler installed in this position cannot provide good performance and that a front mounted intercooler / FMIC would be much better. The truth is that actually the do88 BigPack is far better than most FMIC installations where only a core with a small front surface is possible to install, partially behind the bumper beam which will reduce cooling capacity even further and often cooling abilities worse than the OEM intercooler achieved.
